Further site work & progress

Wednesday 23 April 2014

More work was done on site today.  Heavy black plastic sheeting was laid over the entire excavated area for the new home.  Those polystyrene foam blocks that were delivered yesterday have been laid over the top of that plastic sheeting and along the perimeter of the foundations.  It makes the height of the new home's foundations look much higher than we had anticipated.  It looks like the workers have also started to lay the steel reinforcement cables over the top of the polystyrene foam blocks.  There's still a bit more work needed to finish that off in readiness for the laying of the concrete slab (which, all being well, is scheduled for next Monday, 28 April 2014).

Sydney's weather is lovely in Autumn.  We've been blessed with lovely Autumn weather again all this week, cool/cold nights and early mornings followed by clear blue skies and warm, lazy, sunny days averaging at about 27⁰C each day.  Perfect weather for all this work that McDonald Jones Homes has been doing for us.  We're so excited that things really seem to be moving along after almost a year of planning.

Here's a couple of photos that I took through the security fencing on the way home from work this afternoon, which show the status of progress following today's work.
